The 1905 City Directory indicates that the house at 504 West 10th was the
home of M.A. Morris, an African-American, and his family. On the
block's north side, the families of R. Mahorner, J.L. Brizendine, J.B. Webb,
and Mrs. Annie Harper lived at 509, 507, 505, and 501 West 11th,
respectively.
